Allergy Treatment

Are you looking for an effective allergy treatment? Have you experience itchy, clogged, or runny nose? Is it just an ordinary cold or flu?

But the question here is what causes your allergy?

There are several choices to find out what were you allergic to. First, you can consult to your family doctor and they would probably run some series of tests to be able to find out the problem.

Biopsy can be one of the tests wherein they would get some sample of your skin and then pat some assorted plant pollens and find out if it reacts.

Another option is to rush to your nearest pharmacy and grab an allergy treatment available like for instance Benadryl or decongestants which are commonly available anytime.

My three-year old son Yukio, actually have an allergy since he was a baby. The type of allergy that he has is a food allergy and the reaction can be very visible on his skin.

A food allergy is an immunologic response to a food protein. It is estimated that up to 12 million Americans have food allergies of one type or another and the prevalence is rising.

Six to eight percent of children have food allergies and two percent of adults have them. The most common food allergies in adults are shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, fish, and eggs, and the most common food allergies present in children are milk, eggs, and peanuts.

My son is allergic to chicken, eggs, seafood like shrimp, fish and sea shells. Can you imagine a child’s life without chicken? For a mother like me it really breaks my heart every time he looks at her elder sister Nicole with envy while indulging on some crispy fried chicken for dinner, while he was having beef steak or grilled pork chop instead.

At first we were having problems on how to keep him away from these forbidden foods. It’s either we won’t let him see any of these foods or he will have his meal on a much earlier time just to avoid the scenario of him crying over foods that he can’t have.

Not until he turned a year and half when my husband Marvin decided to try explaining to my son that he can’t have these types of food because his body will get very itchy and turn red once he tries to get even a bite of it.

Good heavens he thought about the idea because up to now Yukio remembers what his father told him. The funny thing is that whenever he is being offered with chicken or egg by somebody who doesn’t knew about his allergy he would say “ No, I will get itchy.”, even if the egg is just an egg shaped chocolate with a toy in it he would still not take it.

Unfortunately as of this time, there is still no allergy treatment for food allergies. Treatment consists of avoidance diets (like Yukio was having), where the allergic person avoids any and all forms of the food to which they are allergic. I also let my son drink plenty of water and a cup of warm green tea at least twice a day. That way I am sure that his system is being cleansed.

Green tea is an effecive allergy treatment being it has vitamins and minerals needed for clear skin as well as antioxidants such as polyphenols to keep your system clean.

It is known to be an excellent remedy to boost your immune system as well as build your energy. It is often prescribed alone or blended with other immune enhancing supplements such as ginseng, echinacea, or even japanese green tea.

For people who are tremendously sensitive, this may involve the total prevention to any contact with the allergen, which includes touching or inhaling the forbidden food as well as any surfaces that may have come into contact with it. Food allergy is different from food intolerance, which does not result from an immune reaction.

Persons diagnosed with a food allergy may bring along an auto injector of epinephrine such as an Epi-Pen or Twinject, put on some form of medical alert jewelry, or create an emergency action plan with the help of their doctor.

So all you parents out there, don’t ignore your child’s allergies and disregard an allergy treatment. These allergies may develop from mild to severe if you don’t consult, plan and make ways on how to avoid it. I think explaining to your kids about it is one of the best ways to avoid the substances or foods that causes the allergy. In that way even when you’re not around you can be sure that your child knows what is good and what is not for him.

In spite of the fact that for food allergies there is no allergy treatment, avoiding the cause is still the best way to fight against these types of allergies. After all, prevention is better than cure!
